What length of surf lessons are best for beginners?

Unlike most surf school in Bali, all surf lesson with us is at 3 hours which gives you plenty of time to fine tune your surfing technique making sure that you get to stand on the right spot on your surfboard each time. You will learn basic surf theory, practice proper paddling skills, & of course aim to get your first green waves. For those who feels the demands of surfing is too much, you can opt to have a coconut bintang beverage whilst your surf guide takes you through your surfing skills & make it better. A video analysis is a great way to see your mistakes that you may not even realise & shorten your learning curve with video analysis.

What do I need to know to surf for the first time?

As a beginner in Bali, the sun can take take a toll on your skin, along with the surf boards which uses foam top, & surfers beginning their journey needs to use a rash guard as this may start to chaff your skin! Board rental is always available on the kiosks at the beach at 50k(whole day rental), at our recognised surf school partners at the beach. The most important thing to know is that if you are where the waves are breaking, you may end up breaking the surf boards, & this will be expensive as they need to custom make their board(which has happened in the past). If you want to stay safer, you can opt to pay for insurance for a peace of mind should you accidentally break the board. For rash guard, unless you are in a premium surf camp/ surf trip, you will be wearing a shared rash guard, & for some people this may be something to consider.

 

Is it safe to surf in Bali?

Bali has the best waves & to practice surfing at the beach trying to stand up is safe enough with a surf guide to help you avoid any RIP currents that may bring you out further than where the wave is breaking. While not dangerous, it may cause you to panic, thus it is always advised & encouraged to surf in a group or engage our pro surf guides
